Organizers of the Thamesville Threshing Festival are happy to hear a serious assault did not take place on their grounds.
Chatham-Kent police initially reported an assault with a beer bottle took place in the beer tent on July 4th, but have since clarified it actually took place outside the grounds on Sherman St.
The Festival's advertising chair Kristy Metcalfe says they take safety and security very seriously. "We're very proud of our festival and we have very, very low incident rates, it's something, alcohol consumption, that of course every festival organizer does worry about," says Metcalfe. "We're extra diligent we feel in our pro activeness , dealing with alcohol and even minors and such."
