A Chatham man facing a long list of drug-related charges will remain behind bars for now.
On Tuesday morning, Jonathan Toornstra appeared via video at the Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham to set a date for a bail hearing. However, the matter was adjourned until August 6 to allow more time for Toornstra's lawyer to apply for additional disclosure.
Toornstra, 35, is charged with 18 offences after a $2.6 million drug bust in Chatham April 10, 2019. Officers seized cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, hydromorphone, GHB, ecstasy, morphine, and fentanyl. Other items seized included a handgun, ammunition, a digital scale, packaging materials, and $52,000 in Canadian cash.
Toornstra's case has been pushed back several times now including in April and May.
