The CEO of United Way London and Middlesex has announced he is stepping down.
Andrew Lockie has been at the helm of the agency for seven years. During that time he helped grow the annual fundraising results from $7.3-million to $9.1-million despite the closure of several large manufacturing plants that had long supported the United Way.
Lockie is leaving his post to become the CEO of YMCA of Western Ontario.
“I will forever remain a supporter of the enormously important work United Way does to support our community,” says Lockie. “And I feel fortunate that I can continue to support United Way’s vision of building a community where everyone matters in my new role at the YMCA of Western Ontario.
Lockie says he is confident the United Way is well positioned for continued success.
The Board of Directors will begin the search for a new CEO immediately .
Lockie's last day on the job will be May 12.
