Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson wants residents in her riding to know that they will not be forgotten in her new role as minister of education.
"It's because of them I'm at Queen's Park, so I just want everyone to know that as I sit around the cabinet table and Treasury Board, I'll be laying down a rural lens on all policies," says Thompson.
She also notes the new Progressive Conservative government will sustain the moratorium on rural school closures.
"We worked really hard as opposition to make the previous government realize the missteps they were taking,." she says.
In addition to her appointment as Minister of Education, Thompson will also be serving on the province's Treasury Board.
