Fields Set for Balanced Image Trot

Fields are set for the 11th annual Balanced Image Trot.

28 horses will compete in 4 divisions as part of this Saturdays 10 race card at Hanover Raceway.

GM Gord Dougan says 183 horses were nominated to the event which is the most in the race’s 11 year history, adding the $77,800 dollar final purse will be the highest yet for the 2 year old stake.

Among the 2 year olds taking part are a few horses with local connections.

PC Foreign Affairs is owned by Amy and Curtis Clements of Dobbinton. The 2-year old colt has 1 win in 3 starts in the OSS grassroots division in 1:58 at Mohawk. He will start from post 5 in race number 2.

Race 8 has three local horses competing. Warrawee Rob is 18th in the OSS Grassroots standings with a win and a 4th place finish in four starts and is trained by Heather Toll of Dungannon. The trio of Mark Etsell and Robert Newton of Walkerton and Chuan Tan of  Kitchener has Major Muscle starting from post 5. And Dayliner, owned by Brenda Walker of Owen Sound and trained and driven by husband Paul Walker has a 2nd and a 3rd in 5 starts in the OSS.

Post time for the 11th annual Balanced Image eliminations is 7:15pm Saturday night.

The top two in each race will return Saturday, August 29th for the $77,800 dollar final and the post positions for the final will be drawn in front of the live crowd after Race 9 on Saturday night.
