A downed power line has forced officials in Lakeshore to close the Comber Community Centre and Fairgrounds.
The Municipality also made the decision to close town hall because of ongoing power outages and phone disruptions.
The Ontario Provincial Police also remind drivers not to drive over downed powerlines, and pedestrians should keep their distance.
Roads are in good condition throughout Lakeshore, but the ice on trees has created a hazard in many areas, including local parks.
Lakeshore staff continue to salt roads and respond to reports of downed trees and branches.
"Thanks to everyone who reported issues throughout the night and into the morning," said Corporate Leader of Operations Krystal Kalbol. "We appreciate everyone's patience as we continue to clean up and deal with the impacts of the storm throughout the day."
Residents can report an immediate risk to health and safety by calling 911. For non-emergency issues, they can contact the Lakeshore Public Service Department at 519-728-2700 ext. 0.
