A 28-year-old Windsor man faces five criminal charges after a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a man she met online.
The Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit launched an investigation last Friday after receiving a report about the incident the night before.
Investigators said the suspect connected with the victim on social media and used false information to lure her into a meeting.
Police say they met in a park in downtown Windsor where she was both physically and sexually assaulted.
Officers arrested a suspect near Park Street East and Ouellette Avenue.
Eric Andrew Little faces sexual assault, sexual interference, assault, telecommunication with a person under the age of 16 for the purpose of committing a sexual assault, and failure to comply with a release order charges.
The charges have not been proven in court.
Police say the suspect used the name "Eric Andrew "Smokie" during online conversations with the victim, and investigators hope anyone else who communicated with him will come forward.
