Amherstburg is naming its snow plows and needs the public's help.
The public has until Wednesday to submit a catchy moniker for the town's four snowplows.
Once the submissions are all entered online, residents can vote on the top ones between December 14 and December 20. The winning names will be announced soon after.
The winners will also get a prize as a token of the town's appreciation.
"Let's unleash creativity and embrace the uniqueness each resident brings to this exciting initiative," said Mayor Michael Prue.
Snow plow naming contests have been growing in popularity. Chatham-Kent holds a similar competition each year, and Essex plans to announce the names of its three snow plows on its municipal webpage on Monday. The Town of LaSalle asked students to name its new snow plow and accepted a suggestion from a grade one class at Ecole elementaire Monseigneur-Augustin-Caron. It chose "Sonic le chasse-neige," or "Sonic the Snowplow."
