A recent global market research and consumer survey has ranked Bluewater Health the 50th best hospital in the country.
The study, published by Newsweek, lists the best hospitals in the world in 2019.
Hospital spokesperson Julia Oosterman said the ranking was compiled based on recommendations from medical professionals, patient surveys and clinical performance indicators.
"We've been doing a lot of work to increase patient satisfaction, our medical professional satisfaction and our clinical results," said Oosterman. "There are over 2,600 people who either work or volunteer and if you think about the size of our community, that's a good percentage of our community. So, we have a lot of people who are really really dedicated to health care in Sarnia-Lambton, and it's just so amazing to see for them this testament of their commitment and good work."
Oosterman said the data provided will help them continue to improve upon patient and staff experience, and clinical outcomes.
Toronto and Montreal each had three hospitals in the top ten across Canada. London University Hospital ranked 58th.
