NHL Playoffs Philadelphia avoided the first round sweep with a 2-1 win over Washington. Florida is now even with the New York Islanders after a 2-1 win Wednesday. Dallas has a 3-1 series lead over Minnesota after a 3-2 win, and San Jose is a win away from the second round following a 2-1 win over LA.

The NHL has suspended Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw for Game five for yelling an anti-gay slur from the penalty box. The league also fined him $5,000 for an inappropriate gesture toward officials during Game four. (more details HERE)

MLB A tough way to lose a ball game. Toronto dropped a 4-3 decision in Baltimore after a passed ball by Josh Thole allowed the winning run to score in the 10th inning. (more details HERE)

Jordan Zimmerman struck out eight as Deroit edged Kansas City 3-2. Washington improved to an MLB-best 11-3 with a win over Miami. St. Louis avoided a three game sweept with a 5-3 win over the Chicago Cubs. Zack Greinke outpitched Madison Bumgarner as Arizona's edged San Fran 2-1. Chicago ace Chris Sale is the first to four wins as the White Sox beat the Angels 2-1. Oakland were 5-2 winners over the New York Yankees. Boston beat Tampa Bay 7-3.

NBA Cleveland tied an NBA record by hitting 20 three pointers in a 107-90 win over Detroit. Andre Drummond scored 20 for the Pistons, who have dropped 10 straight playoff games to the Cavs. Dwayne Waynce scored 28 as Miami downed Charlotte 115-103 to take a 2-0 series lead.

The Toronto Raptors are tied 1-1 with the Pacers as their first round series shifts to Indiana Thursday night.

AHL Playoffs Sarnia native Dustin Jeffrey scored a goal as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton opened their series against Providence with a 3-2 overtime win. Wallaceburg's Seth Griffith had a goal for the Bruins.

OHL Playoffs The London Knights got a strong performance from their top line as they opened the Western Conference Finals with a 7-4 win over Erie. Matthew Tkachuk scored three goals and added an assist, Christian Dvorak scored a pair and recorded three assists, while Mitchell Marner scored a goal and added three helpers. Alex DeBrincat scored a hat trick in the loss.

The East final opens tonight in Barrie with the Colts hosting the Niagara IceDogs.
