The City of Windsor celebrated seven centenarians this week.
The city started marking these birthdays in 2017 in honour of the 100th anniversary of the city's creation.
"It was such a hit that we said we are going to continue to do this," said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens. "I really enjoy doing it, I think the families enjoy it, and most importantly, those who are being recognized appreciate that we're taking the time to come out and acknowledge what is a huge milestone in someone's life."
The ceremony was held at the Village of St. Clair for seven women who have turned 100 or will be 100 this year.
Mayor Drew Dilkens presented certificates to Maria Markle, 103, Yetta Lager, 101, Evelyn Masse, 101, Ethel Thrasher, 101, Antonina Martinico turns 100 on August 14, Audrey Graham turns 100 on November 22, and Christina Lewis turns 100 on December 31.
"It's just fun talking to them, learning their experiences and learning about their lives," said Dilkens. "There are more than 700 years of life lived with those seven individuals. It's quite remarkable."
