UPDATE: Nothing suspicious found following bomb threat

Students at St. Joseph's Catholic High School were dismissed early Wednesday because of a bomb threat.

The Windsor Police Service investigated the threat Wednesday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. The Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board was given the "all-clear" just before 5 p.m.

At around 6 p.m. police confirmed on social media, that nothing suspicious had been found following a thorough search of the high school.

A representative from the school board said students were sent home slightly before their regular dismissal time after consulting with the Windsor Police Service.

Students who ride the Transit Windsor special bus, as well as students with special needs who rely on board-provided transportation, were told to wait behind the school until their buses arrived at the usual dismissal time.

The school will open as usual on Thursday.
