If you like to see cowboys, cowgirls, and horses in action, an event will hit Windsor-Essex next week.
The Kingsville Pro Rodeo will take place in South Woodslee on July 26, 27, and 28. The event picks up where the former Sun Parlour Rodeo left off. The Sun Parlour Rodeo ended operations last year.
Rawhide Rodeo Company, which puts on rodeos across Canada, returns for the new rodeo, which will take place at the Trimble Farms Cattle Company on County Road 27.
A professional rodeo performance will be held on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. A mechanical bull competition for adults will be at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday only.
On Friday after the rodeo, attendees are invited to a country dance party in the beer tent.
Saturday's program concludes with live music from Slim Pickerel, BB Anne, and Higg's Country Music.
Admission to the beer tent is 19-and-over and free with a rodeo purchase.
There are also activities to keep the kids busy, including free face painting, a corn pit, a petting zoo, and photo opportunities with farm equipment. Pony rides and build-a-bear will also be offered for a fee.
Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at noon on Sunday.
Complete information on location, tickets, and events can be found on the Kingsville Pro Rodeo's official website. Windsor's Country 95.9/92.7 and COOL-FM 100.7 are the official media sponsors.
Proceeds from the Kingsville Pro Rodeo will support the Canadian Mental Health Association, and the Windsor-Essex Therapeutic Riding Association (WETRA).
