Clear Medical Imaging strike continues after workers reject offer

Striking employees of Clear Medical Imaging will remain on the picket line.

The workers, represented by Unifor Local 2458, overwhelmingly rejected the company's latest contract offer in a vote held on Wednesday and Thursday, with 96 per cent of those voting saying no.

"This decisive rejection is proof that our members stand together to fight for fairness and equity," said Unifor Local 2458 President Ken Durocher. "Unifor remains ready to bargain and is committed to securing a collective agreement that respects the contributions of all workers."

The vote was initiated through the Ontario Labour Relations Board.

Some 120 employees walked off the job on October 25, over wages, wage parity, mandatory overtime, and working conditions. They work at 11 Clear Medical Imaging facilities in Windsor, Chatham, Essex, LaSalle, and Tecumseh.

The employees work as x-ray, ultrasound, nuclear medicine technologists, clerical, and administrative staff.

They are going through the first round of negotiations since becoming Unifor members earlier this year.
