Ford makes campaign stop in Windsor-Essex

Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford returned to Windsor-Essex on the last day of the election campaign flanked by his local candidates at the local LiUNA 494 training centre.

"We are going to continue attracting opportunities here, businesses here, we're going to build infrastructure here until the great members behind me and the union go out there and get a pay cheque," said Ford.

Ford said his candidate for Windsor-West, Tony Francis, is the best person to be the voice for the riding.

But throughout the campaign, Francis has chosen not to share that voice with the media as requests to his campaign office have gone unanswered. He's also chosen not to participate in local debates.

Ford said that's because Francis is too busy knocking on doors.

"It's about the people, that's where the media has to differentiate. We would rather have our candidate Tony knocking on hundreds and hundreds of doors, listening to the concerns of the people of Windsor-West, and he's going to address those concerns because finally they have a voice," said Ford.

Francis chose not to speak at the news conference.

Also running in Windsor-West are incumbent NDP candidate Lisa Gretzky, Matthew Giancola (Ontario Party), Mark Dewdney (None of the Above Direct Democracy Party), Nick Kolasky (Green Party of Ontario), and Joshua Griffin (New Blue Party).
