Comber girl raises $8,100 for Terry Fox Foundation

A young Comber girl is on her way to collecting $11,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation.

The Lauren and Friends Lemonade Stand was held over the weekend and raised $8,100 toward the goal.

Lauren Meadows, 10, has been hosting the lemonade stand with her friends for the past seven years. To date, she has raised over $47,000 for the foundation.

“I love volunteering because it helps bring my friends and community together for a good cause and for a great time. I hope you will help me in my journey to get to $11,000 in 2025," said Meadows.

Online donations to go toward Meadows' goal can be made here.

“Our family is so incredibly proud of Lauren for her dedication to a cause at such a young age. Her friends have been the best volunteers, and the community has been so supportive of her efforts with sharing her story, making donations and attending the events over the last seven years. She’s passionate about the mission Terry Fox set out to do and we love that she has continued on his mission right here in Comber and the surrounding area,” said Chantelle Meadows, Lauren's mom.

The 45th anniversary of the Terry Fox Run is on September 14.
