Two fatal crashes under investigation by CK police

Chatham-Kent (CK) police are investigating two fatal crashes over the past week.

The first incident happened in Chatham on September 15, involving a semi-truck and a cyclist.

A 38-year-old man biking on St. Clair Street was struck by the truck, suffering life-threatening injuries.

He was eventually transferred to the Windsor Regional Hospital, but passed away four days later.

The second incident happened Sunday morning, just outside Chatham on Creek Road near Maynard Line.

Police say a vehicle left the road and hit a home. The driver, a 23-year-old Tilbury woman, suffered serious injuries and was eventually transported to London for treatment.

She passed away from her injuries the next day.

A 24-year-old man who was a passenger in the vehicle also suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Meanwhile, there were two other serious collisions in the past week that resulted in life-threatening injuries.

On Friday, an SUV reportedly collided with a dirt bike in Dresden. The bike was being used by a 15-year-old youth from Dover Township who suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.

The other collision also happened on Friday, but this involved a dirt bike in Chatham.

The driver, a 32-year-old man from Chatham, reportedly lost control while driving in a parking lot and was thrown from the bike. He also suffered life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information about any of the collisions is asked to contact the Traffic Management Office at 519-355-1092.
