The Municipality of Lakeshore is looking for an experienced and innovative developer to help it build a new housing development on River Ridge Drive.
The site is 4.6 hectares and is close to major transportation corridors, residential areas, and natural amenities. It was chosen for the project after a review of 179 municipally-owned properties.
The municipality has issued an Expression of Interest.
It's part of the ongoing work of Lakeshore Horizons, the collaboration between Lakeshore and the Centre for Cities at the University of Windsor, to modernize planning and development processes and implement initiatives outlined in the municipality's Housing Accelerator Fund grant agreement.
Lakeshore Mayor Tracey Bailey said prospective development partners need to submit their EOI no later than November 21 through the municipality's Bids and Tenders page.
There are also two events coming up where residents can learn more about the EOI and the River Ridge site.
The first is a virtual information session on November 10 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. There will also be a site meeting on Thursday, November 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Pre-registration is required and can be done through the Bids and Tenders page.
The municipality is also holding two information sessions for the public, at the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre on November 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday, November 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Libro Community Centre in Woodslee.
