Seniors donate cold weather accessories to H4

Over 300 warm hats, gloves and scarves were donated to the Homelessness and Housing Help Hub by the Tuesday craft club, Why Knot, at Life After Fifty.

Each Tuesday, a group of 15-30 crafters come together to knit, crochet, and sew at the senior's centre at the WFCU Centre.

"We've been making things that we figured would be needed like mitts, hats, gloves, blankets, there's one bedroll there that is absolutely amazing," said member Barb Morris.

As the weather turns, employees at the H4 indicate the donation could not have come at a better time.

"We're extremely grateful for this donation it is really such a showcase of dedication and care from the community to show that we're all in this together especially during these colder winter months," said Jordan Nguyen, Program Director of the H4. "These donations are incredibly critical for us to be able to provide essential services to the people that we serve and protect."

The H4 serves around 270 people on a daily basis.

"I want to make them as well as I would make them if I was presenting them as a gift to somebody. I feel they deserve the best as well as everybody else," said Morris.
