The Salvation Army Windsor Centre of Hope is hoping to raise $250,000 through its annual kettle campaign.
Kettles, along with volunteers will be collecting donations in 15 different locations throughout the community.
"The donations that you make have a critical impact on our most vulnerable people in Windsor. So if you can, you can be assured that you will have an impact and you will be helping those people," said Executive Director Jason Linton.
Linton said if you can't give this year, people should also consider volunteering. Each year the campaign needs around 50-60 volunteers. Anyone interested can visit the Salvation Army website.
"These are very difficult times, we're finding that people are having a hard time making ends meet, and we see that every day in our food bank," said Linton. "The numbers are up and we're seeing a lot of first-time users."
The campaign runs until December 24.
