If you have a daughter between the ages of 7 and 10 who has expressed an interest in softball, a free camp is coming up in February.
The Windsor West Little League will host the camp on February 1, 8, 15, and 22 at St. Clair College's Classic Gym. The program is open to all girls across Windsor-Essex, but players are encouraged to bring their own bats, helmets, and gloves if they have them.
"This camp is about creating a positive first experience with softball and showing young girls that the sport is fun, inclusive, and accessible," said the league. "We're excited to bring high-level coaches and role models together to inspire the next generation of players."
The camp will be led by an experienced team of local softball leaders, including the head coach of the University of Windsor softball team, Francine Stadler, and Kelli Pacquette of the Lady Expos.
Olympian Lith "Spyder" Web will make a special appearance during the camp to meet with participants and share her experience at the highest level of the sport.
Each session will include skill development, games, and age-appropriate instruction.
Registration is free and can be completed online or by emailing windsorwestlittleleague@gmail.com.
