Public Drop-off Depots reopen

A lot of people have been cleaning out their garages and homes lately, and all that refuse is adding up.

Up until now, residents were asked to hang on to things like renovation materials, but on Tuesday, the Windsor Public Drop-Off Depot on North Service Road East will reopen.

It will be open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. so people can drop off their old couches, electronics, and construction materials.

The Household Chemical Drop-Off site will also be open, but the Reuse Centre will remain closed.

The Kingsville Transfer Station #2 on Albuna Townline will also reopen to the public on Tuesday. Hours of operation there are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

The Essex-Windsor Regional Landfill on County Road 18 in Essex continues its normal operations, but residents are asked to come only if the usual curbside garbage collection can not take.

Strict adherence to all COVID-19 protocols are in place, and the sites are staffed by essential workers only. Only Debit and Credit Card will be accepted. Cash will not. If the traffic is excessive, the Essex Windsor Solid Waste Authority may close them early.
