An accident in the downtown core Tuesday has led to some power and communication interruptions to some businesses.
The incident happened sometime late Tuesday afternoon when some businesses reported losing power, while others indicated issues with their telephone lines.
Shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday, Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens published a social media post on X (formerly Twitter), with a photo of a vehicle collapsed into a sinkhole somewhere in the downtown area.
“Be advised that hydro and communication services are affected in the core. Updates will be provided when they become available,” Dilkens wrote.
As of 6:25 p.m., Enwin is reporting an outage in the downtown core impacting approximately 293 customers.
At around 6:30 p.m., Windsor police published a post on X stating that Park Street West will remain closed between Pelissier Street and Ouellette Avenue due to damage from a blown transformer. The public has been advised to avoid the area.
