Windsor Police will shut down a long list of downtown streets for Monday night's Ford International Fireworks.
Riverside Drive will close between Devonshire Road and the Ambassador Bridge at 6 p.m. as thousands converge on the riverfront to watch the display.
Other streets that will close at that time are:
* Ouellette Avenue from Wyandotte Street to the riverfront
* University Avenue from Victoria Avenue to Aylmer Avenue
* Chatham Street from Pelissier to Aylmer Avenue
* Park Street from Victoria Avenue to McDougall Street
* Pitt Street from Ferry Street to McDougall Street
* Pelissier Street from Park Street to Chatham Street
Police encourage residents to take the city bus or ride their bikes.
Transit Windsor will offer free rides downtown starting at 6 p.m., and shuttle buses will take event goers from Devonshire Mall to a drop-off spot near City Hall and back again after the display.
At 6 p.m., the Windsor Bicycling Committee offers free bike parking at Charles Clark Square.
Police also ask parents to take a photo of their children just before leaving for the fireworks. Should your child get lost, police will have an accurate picture to help find them.
The fireworks start at 10:06 p.m.
